Your own place, with support behind you

Supported Living

Supported Living helps a person live on their own, and we mean genuinely their own. That starts with finding a place that works and is actually accessible. Then it becomes the everyday skills that keep a household running: cooking, shopping, paying bills on time, knowing who to call when the air conditioning quits. This is the one service where somebody is on call 24 hours a day, because living alone means the thing that goes wrong at two in the morning is yours to handle. We stay involved as long as it helps, and step back as the person takes more of it on.

A woman in a wheelchair sets a tray of food she has just made on her lap in her own kitchen.

What this support can include

  • Help finding a place that fits and is accessible
  • Building daily living skills like personal care, cooking, and shopping
  • Managing chores and getting meals on the table
  • Support with personal finances and budgeting
  • The social and problem-solving skills that make living alone work
  • On-call support 24 hours a day, for the people we support in this program

This might be a good fit if…

  • An adult who wants to live independently in their own home
  • Someone building the skills to run a household day to day
  • A person who needs help finding housing that is accessible and affordable
