Confidence and connection

Life Skills

Life Skills is about staying connected and increasing community inclusion and participation. We pair someone with a support professional for activities that build practical skills and keep them out in the world. That might be volunteering, a weekly class, a standing coffee with friends, or working toward a goal in their support plan. The point is the same. Independence should not mean spending the day alone.

A young woman works at a laptop at her dining table, with plants and morning light around her.

What this support can include

  • Non-medical company, supervision, and time spent together
  • Community activities chosen around the person's own goals
  • Volunteering and pre-work activities that build confidence
  • Support that connects a person to their community rather than away from it
  • A regular, long-term schedule you can plan around

This might be a good fit if…

  • An adult who wants more of a social life and less time on their own
  • Someone working toward goals written into their support plan
  • A person who does better with the same familiar face week after week
